Survey marine vessels and watercraft; examine underwater section of hull while ship is dry-docked; take readings on tailshaft bearings; inspect condition of propellers, rudders and sea valves; inspect above waterline section of ship for compliance with operating standards & standards for protection of crew.
MUST HAVE MASTERS OR EQUIV. IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE OR RELATED FIELD & 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

Vessel Superintendent (posted March 19, 2007)

- Supervise daily vessel operations
- Order labor for vessel, including assigning labor and verifying availability
- Interact with vessel port captains
- Must have good knowledge of BB cargo, containers and HL cargo
- Communicate with vessel agents on vessel arrival, production, authorization for work, vessel departure
- Coordinate vessel activity to include estimated production, equipment, gear, etc.
